Welcome to Our Island! I'm Maria Chew, owner and director of Our Island Preschool. We are a newly licensed preschool! We're opening our doors this summer for Island Summer so that you can see what we are all about for FREE. We are stay and play program for children 2.5 to 5.

Here's how it works: you stay, your child plays. It's a safe, preschool like environment where kids get to explore while the adults with them get to connect too. Having young children can be isolating, and this gives you a place to check in with other parents while your child gets a taste of what preschool feels like.

It's a great step for kids heading into preschool or TK this fall, a younger sibling “who wants to go camp”, or folks looking for a play date venue. It's an easy fit for families who can't commit to a full summer camp.

The details:

• Monday through Friday, nine to noon, at Our Island Preschool, 1910 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda. Closed July 3 & 8.

• Come play and see what we are all about. We are not yet a drop off program. Adults need to stay.

• You might want to bring a bottle of water and a snack.
